Launching in 2007 we are working in partnership with BBC Sport and BBC 1Xtra and the Asian Network to offer 10 media traineeships for people who are long term unemployed (six months or more) and who would not consider the BBC to be an employer they would typically think of working for.
“CSV Media, in partnership with the BBC, are offering 10 new Media Traineeships as part of a pilot scheme across London. This scheme aims to attract a diverse pool of applicants to the BBC and to better connect the BBC with local communities in London, specifically those young people who may not normally consider the BBC as a potential employer or access its programmes and services.
Successful applicants will receive 13 weeks of formal training, followed by a 13 week placement at the BBC. Five of the trainees will be placed within BBC Sport and five will be placed within BBC Audio and Music. At the end of the placement each trainee will obtain a formal City & Guilds qualification in Media Techniques.
The scheme is a part of a long-term objective to increase the diversity of the BBC’s workforce, therefore reflecting the diversity of our output and audiences.
